Shri Swami Samarth is one of the great spiritual minds of India who had his physical presence in the 19th century. Swamiji after travelling in many places in India settled in Akkalkot in Maharashtra. Swamiji appeared   in many places and showered his blessings on the followers. Swamiji in all the places showed many miracles and helped many who were in difficulty. In Saurashtra, Swamiji came to a place called Shrikrishna Trivikram. Near the beautiful temple there was a lake called Narayan and the devotees believed that a bath in this lake will wash aways the sins of the past births. The priest exploited the pilgrims and earned large sums of money by overcharging the pilgrims.

Yogic Power

The priests had appointed strongmen to prevent and control the peole from taking bath without payment. Swamiji when he reached the lake had to face the strongmen and when they demanded money, walked over their heads and walked on the water. Such was the yogic power of Swamiji. Swamiji sat on the water as if he was sitting on the land. The priests understood the yogic powers of Swamiji and surrendered to Swamiji andprayed to him. The priests’ sangs songs praising Swamiji and meals were given to the public. There was a pundit in the crowd who was wondering how Swamiji did all these miracles. Swamiji reads the thoughts of this pundit and the pundit realised this and surrendered to Swamiji.

Swamiji later visited Dwaraka. In Dwaraka there was a Yogi called Bhurebuwa who had many followers. He had attained the occult powers and was getting rid of the problems of the people. This Yogi was still not happy because he had not had the vision of Lord Dattatreya. Once while meditating the Yogi fell asleep and saw many beautiful scenes like rivers, mountains, oceans etc in his dream. In the dream he came to the banks of a river and there he saw Lord Dattatreya in the three headed form. The Yogi was emotionally charged and prostrated in front Lord Dattatreya and slowly the form vanished and changed to Swami Samarth.

Interpretations

Bhurebuwa had doubts to ask Swamiji and wanted to know the interpretations of the word “Tatwamasi”. He wanted to know why followers of Dualism (Dwaita) interpreted it a “You belong to Him” and followers of Monism (Adwaita) interpreted it as “You are that”. Swamiji elaborated the meaning to Bhurebawa and he prostrated in front of Swamiji. Bhurebuwa then went into deep Samadhi state and enjoyed the divine spiritual bliss. Swamiji blessed him and once Bhurebuwa was out of the dream he realised that Swamiji was actually there in front of him. The entire Dwaraka was rejoicing seeing this incident and hailed Swamiji. Many other spiritual scholars were surprised to see the spiritual transformation of Bhurebuwa and became his disciples.
